CAGG-NI Member Benefits
CAGG-NI Today
CAGG-NI today is a vibrant, active group with over 150 active members. Most are amateur genealogy hobbyists, some of us are professional genealogists, and many are just getting started in our family history research. Our common thread is our enthusiasm for genealogy. We welcome you to join us!
Programs
CAGG-NI hosts 11 Membership Programs each year, on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m., usually at the Schaumburg Township District Library in Schaumburg, Illinois, in all months except December. A planning meeting is held in December. The meetings are on a wide range of general genealogical topics, often with a focus for the on-line researcher. Our Membership Programs are a great way to enhance your genealogy skills and to meet with others who share our common interest. A sampling of recent Membership Programs includes:
· On-line obituary research
· Strategies for finding Old-World ancestors
· DNA genealogy
· Software tools for genealogists
· Photograph restoration
Special Interest Groups
CAGG-NI hosts Special Interest Group meetings (SIGs) for users of the following genealogy software programs:
Each SIG meets several times throughout the year, either following the general Membership Program or on an alternate Saturday. Refer to CAGG-NI Meetings for complete details.

Each member receives the monthly Newsletter. Our Newsletter is an excellent source of tips, genealogy news, and articles of interest for the modern genealogy researcher. We invite you to view a sample Newsletter.
