Newberry Library on October 7, 2010

Come on a Genealogy bus trip to the Newberry Library in Chicago!  Join Cook Memorial Public Library District (Libertyville) patrons and friends on Thursday, October 7, 2010 as we get an introductory tour of the genealogy section of the Newberry Library and then have time for individual research. The bus leaves from Libertyville at 9 a.m. and returns by 4 p.m. Cost is $32 and includes a box lunch. You can sign up at our Temporary Library Center, 114 N. Who Do You Think You Are?

begins Friday, March 5, 2010 at 8/7 Central on NBC.

The hit TV series from the U.K. makes its U.S debut.  The program traces the interesting and often surprising journey through family history of well known celebrities as they discover the stories of their ancestors.  The new American series will feature the genealogical heritage of: Sarah Jessica Parker, Emmitt Smith, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Broderick, Brooke Shields, Susan Sarandon and Spike Lee.  The program will also shares ideas and research strategies that could help viewers discover their own family history stories.
